Tracking Quotes

Quotes is a simple pipeline for anything you’ve priced up: what’s waiting to be quoted, what’s out with a customer, and what’s already been won or lost. It has three tabs.

Needs Quote

This tab fills itself in — you don’t add anything to it manually. Whenever you log a call outcome of Requires Quote against an account (covered in Calls, Cadence and Follow-Up), that account appears here automatically as a reminder that a price is owed. If you decide a quote isn’t needed after all, you can clear the flag without creating one.

Sending a Quote

From the Needs Quote tab (or directly from an account), send a quote with a value, an optional reference (a quote number, for instance) and optional notes. This does two things: it creates a pending quote in your pipeline, and it logs the same “Quote Sent” outcome as if you’d chosen it from the account’s call log, so the account’s cadence resets from today.

Open Quotes

Every quote you’ve sent that hasn’t been marked won or lost sits here, newest first, with a running total value for your whole open pipeline shown at the top — a quick answer to “how much is currently out there waiting on a decision.”

Marking a Quote Won or Lost

Once a customer decides, mark the quote Won or Lost from the Open Quotes tab. This moves it into your history and stops it counting towards the open pipeline total. Your total won value is shown at the top of the Won/Lost History tab, so you can see conversion over time.

Editing and Deleting

You can edit a quote’s value, reference or notes at any point — pending, won, or lost — if you made an error or the price changed. Deleting a quote removes it entirely; if you just want it out of your open pipeline without deleting the record, mark it lost instead.
